Dogfolio does not put a number on how many documents you can store. This page explains what we expect instead, and what happens in the rare case that something looks wrong.
We would rather say this plainly than bury a limit in the terms and surprise you with it later.
What this is for
Dogfolio document storage is for one household keeping its own dogs’ records. The service assumes ordinary use by an ordinary owner, whether you use the free plan or Plus.
Almost nobody needs to think about this page. If you are keeping vaccination cards, insurance schedules, certificates, vet letters and photographs of your own dogs, you are using Dogfolio exactly as intended, and no amount of that is a problem.
What we would consider unreasonable
- Using the document store as general file storage for things unrelated to looking after a dog.
- Sharing one account between people who are not part of the same household, rather than each having their own.
- Uploading automatically, in bulk, or by any means other than using the app normally.
- Reselling access to Dogfolio, or using it to run a service for other people’s dogs. If you are a walker, sitter or kennel, please get in touch instead. It is a different product and we would like to hear from you.
- Anything that damages the service for other people.
What happens if we think something is wrong
In this order, always.
- We contact you. By email, at the address on your account, explaining what we have seen and why it concerns us.
- We give you a reasonable time to sort it out. At least 14 days, unless what is happening is causing immediate harm to the service or to other people.
- We work out what is fair. Often the answer is that you were using it perfectly reasonably and we were wrong, in which case that is the end of it.
- Only if it is not resolved do we limit further uploads on the account, or in a serious case suspend it.
We will not delete anything you have stored without telling you first, and we will always give you a way to get your documents out before any account is closed. Whatever else happens, your records are yours.
If we do restrict or close a paid account for a reason that is not your fault, we refund the unused part of what you have paid.
