These terms are the agreement between you and Dogfolio. We have written them to be read, not to be impressive. If anything here is unclear, email hello@dogfolio.co.uk and we will explain it.
Who we are
Dogfolio is operated from the United Kingdom. You can reach us at hello@dogfolio.co.uk, and we aim to answer within a few working days.
What Dogfolio is, and what it is not
Dogfolio is a record-keeping tool. It holds the information you put into it about your dogs, reminds you about dates you have entered, and gives you a way to show that information quickly when it matters.
Dogfolio is not veterinary advice, and it is not a substitute for a vet. Nothing in the app is a clinical opinion about your animal. If your dog is unwell, or you are unsure about a treatment, a vaccination or a medicine, speak to a vet.
Dogfolio does not tell you the rules for travelling with a pet. Those rules change, so the app links to the live GOV.UK guidance rather than repeating it. Always check that guidance yourself before you travel. The travel checklists in the app are a prompt to help you prepare, not a statement of what the law requires on the day you cross a border.
Reminders are a convenience, not a guarantee. They depend on your device, your email provider and your network, none of which we control. Do not rely on Dogfolio alone for anything that matters to your dog’s health.
Your account
You need to be at least 16 to have an account.
Keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for what happens on your account, so tell us promptly if you think someone else has got into it.
Give us an email address that works. It is how we reach you about your account, your subscription and anything that goes wrong.
Free and Plus
The core of Dogfolio is free, and is meant to stay that way. The wallet, backup and sync across your devices, the calendar, reminders and private document storage are all included at no cost for one dog. Documents follow the same fair use policy on every plan. We charge for dog capacity, not for the things that make the product work.
Dogfolio Plus gives you the same complete service for up to five dogs. The free plan is for one dog. Document storage is not an upgrade trigger and remains subject to fair use on both plans.
Prices. £3.99 a month, or £29.99 a year. The price you see at checkout is the price you pay.
Renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period, at the same price, until you cancel.
Price changes. If we change the price of a plan you are on, we will tell you by email at least 30 days before it takes effect, and you can cancel before then if you would rather not pay it. We will never change the price of a period you have already paid for.
Founding members. If you create your account on or before 30 October 2026, Dogfolio Plus is included free for life, for as long as that account remains open. Accounts created from 31 October 2026 start on the one-dog free plan and can subscribe to Plus. Document storage follows the fair use policy for everyone.
Paying
Payments are taken by Stripe. Your card details go to Stripe and are never seen or stored by us. Stripe’s own terms and privacy notice apply to the payment itself.
If a payment fails, Stripe will retry it for a while. We do not cut off your Plus features the moment a payment fails, but if it is not resolved the subscription will end and the account will return to the free plan.
Cancelling, and getting your money back
You can cancel at any time, from the billing section of your account, with no email and no notice period. There is nothing to argue about and nobody to persuade.
When you cancel, you keep Plus until the end of the period you have paid for. After that the account returns to the free plan.
14-day refund. If you change your mind within 14 days of paying, tell us and we will refund what you paid in full. This applies to a first payment and to a renewal, monthly or annual. You do not have to give a reason.
This refund policy is in addition to your statutory rights. Nothing in these terms limits the rights you have under applicable consumer law.
What happens to your data when you drop to free. Nothing is deleted because you cancelled. If you have more than one dog saved, you keep every dog and their records, but cannot add another unless you subscribe again. Document storage remains available under the fair use policy.
Fair use
Dogfolio does not put a customer-facing number on document storage, on either the free plan or Plus. Instead we ask that you use it reasonably, and our fair use policy explains what that means and what happens if we think something is wrong. In short: we contact you first, we give you time, and we never delete your records without telling you.
What you put into Dogfolio
Your records are yours. We claim no ownership of anything you enter or upload, and we do not use it for anything except providing the service to you.
You are responsible for having the right to upload what you upload, and for what you enter about other people. If you store a vet’s or a neighbour’s contact details, please make sure they would not object.
Do not use Dogfolio to store anything unlawful.
Availability
We work hard to keep Dogfolio running, but we do not promise it will never be unavailable. We may need to take it down for maintenance, and things occasionally break.
Much of Dogfolio works offline by design: your records live on your device, so the app keeps working when the network does not. Backup, sync and document storage need a connection.
We may change how the app works, and add or remove features. If we remove something significant that you are paying for, we will tell you and you can cancel and get a refund of the unused part.
Ending your account
You can delete your account at any time from within the app. Deleting it removes your sign-in, your records, your documents and your photographs. This cannot be undone, so export anything you want to keep first.
We may suspend or close an account if these terms or the fair use policy are seriously or repeatedly broken, following the steps in the fair use policy. If we close a paid account for a reason that is not your fault, we refund the unused part.
Our responsibility to you
If we fail to meet these terms, we are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of that failure. We are not responsible for loss or damage that was not foreseeable.
We do not exclude or limit our responsibility to you in any way where it would be unlawful to do so. That includes responsibility for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, and for breaches of your legal rights as a consumer.
Because Dogfolio is a record-keeping tool and not veterinary advice, we are not responsible for decisions about your dog’s health, for treatments given or missed, or for the consequences of relying on a reminder instead of a vet.
Where we are responsible, and it is lawful to limit it, our liability is limited to the amount you have paid us in the 12 months before the problem arose.
Changes to these terms
We may change these terms. If a change materially affects you, we will tell you by email at least 30 days before it takes effect, and you can cancel before then if you do not accept it. Minor corrections take effect when published.
Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and you can bring proceedings in the courts of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also bring proceedings in your own courts.
Nothing here takes away rights you have as a consumer that cannot be signed away.
